"When we first moved into our current clinic 5 years ago all of our time and energy was focused on the patient’s experience. \We designed our waiting room to be open and soft, our front office space to be inviting and efficient, and our treatment rooms to feel safe and relaxing. We never put much energy into the design of our back office. Add to that the fact that our staff doubled in size over the last 5 years and it was obvious that our office space was crowded and in need of a makeover.

Initially we tried to redesign the space in-house, but it quickly became clear that we needed someone who was a professional. Ullika sat down with my partner and I and listened to our concerns—our ideas of how to use the space, our feelings around design and our concerns with budget. She then set about putting our ideas into a 3-D design, which the three of us tweaked over two additional meetings. Once the design was agreed upon, Ullika helped us research where to buy the furniture and equipment. Never once did Ullika pressure us in any way, though when she did have to advice us to consider other options she always did so after extensive market research showed that what we wanted was either not available or not possible within the scope of our budget. Every step of the way she was well prepared, well informed and very clear with her communication.

We chose to “install” the redesign ourselves, but even then, on a Saturday morning at 9 am, Ullika was available when we hit our first installation problems. She appeared at our office 45 minutes after we called and after a few moments it became clear that the problem was not her design but a misunderstanding on our part with the packing list. She was pleasant and helpful and never once upset that we got her out of bed. A true professional.

The new office space is so much more open and fluid than our last work environment. Everyone feels like they have their own work space and the flow of the room is much more comfortable. We are very happy with the work Ullika did and we have already made arrangements to work with her on another project in the fall. Thanks for everything".

"I have a storefront in an old house on Alberta. I LOVE the location but the space itself has been challenging. It turns out that many people are shy about entering a house when they are not absolutely certain that they are invited in. It makes sense but I couldn’t figure out why my 2 different “OPEN” signs and the big old “Welcome” sign weren’t enough.
